About Me
I am originally from California, about 30 minutes from Disneyland. I grew up visiting Disneyland multiple times a year, and, as soon as I was old enough, I kept an annual pass. It was a lifelong dream to visit Tokyo Disney, but it wasn’t until I moved to Taiwan in 2009 that I finally made it. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to visit all the parks worldwide, including keeping an annual pass at each one until 2016 when Shanghai Disneyland opened.
After living in Taiwan for nearly four years, I moved to the Netherlands. I still live in the Netherlands, but I also live in the beautiful country of Belize for six months out of the year. I’ve been doing this crazy arrangement since 2012, but I’d love to move back to Taiwan or even find a way to live in Japan for a year or two.
I’m fortunate that I can combine my love of Disney with my professional work as a travel and food writer. I’ve written about Disney for a variety of publications, including TripSavvy (formerly About.com), TripAdvisor, CNNGo and Roam Right Travel Insurance. I freelance for a variety of publications as well as publish my own award-winning food travel blog. I’ve traveled to around 70 countries / six continents to date, and many of my travels are joined by my beautiful Duffy Bears and friends.
About My Disney Theme Park Travels
I am often asked how many times I get to each of the Disney Resorts per year. It will start to vary now that I have moved from Taiwan and am now technically based in the Netherlands. Sadly, Japan and Hong Kong are now longer flights so I will not be going as often, but still plan to visit each 2-3 times per year.
On average, this is what my yearly Disney Resort schedule looks like:
- Disneyland Resort 5-8 times per year
- Walt Disney World 1-2 times per year
- Hong Kong Disneyland 3-4 times per year
- Tokyo Disney Resort 4-5 times per year
- Disneyland Paris 5-6 times per year
- Shanghai Disney Once a year
